this is for who got the 4000th pageview. who asked for a picture of Pippen from Lord of the Rings. well i thought i could just draw a hobbit but this scene which didnt quite happen like this from "Two Towers" was the one that sticks out in my mind the most form the movies. so i threw in mary treebeard and that ugly orc aswell

when i was shading this one i was actually using a pencil the same darkness as the mech pencil i used for the linewor which produces a few nice effects. it allowed me to combine shadows insead of have them all segregated by overly dark linework. some of it i really like such as the rocks underneath the fallen trees and tree-beards face(except the beard). i also ran it through the smart blur filter on photoshop to try and rid it of some of the grainy paper texture. it seems to have come out with a semi ink-wash look i quite like
